March 29th- 5:00pm. BroadMoor Clubhouse. This is a meeting for new members, Board members and Captains. We will discuss the general rules of the league, answer questions, and get to know the new members.
Opening Night Team Scramble:
April 5th-Tee times are 3:56pm to 4:52pm. Captains, please contact your team members and organize a gathering time for your team. This is the only night you will all play with your team, so hopefully everyone can make it and get acquainted. ALL PLAYERS PLAY FROM THE WHITE TEES FOR THE SCRAMBLE. Each taem gets 4 shots from each position. If you are short players, rotate the extra shot/shots equally among your team members. We will gather in the clubhouse after the round to get acquainted and determine the winner. The league will buy 2 pitchers of beer (or 2 drinks per man), and have a taco bar. The winning team on each side receives $100 per team. Even teams play Back, odd teams play Front.
First Night of Matches:
April 12th Tee times are 3:56pm-4:52pm. USGA rules apply but are overruled by course and SAPS league rules. It is a four man team format, the 1 player being the lowest handicap and on up through the 4 man. It is a four point competition for the matches, two points medal (stroke) and two points match. You may concede any putt, parr or higher. If your opponent gives you the putt, you must accept. Two teams play each other each night. The 1 man plays the 1 man, 2 man plays 2 man, and so forth. The 1 & 2 men play from the BLUE tees, the 3 & 4 men play from the WHITE tees. All players will play from the WHITE tees for tournaments. It is a good idea to contact your opponent in advance to confirm a tee time to meet. When you and your opponent are ready to play, you pair up with another twosome or a single (a player may not have a match that night). You then put a ball down next to the tee marker. If your group is not ready when it is your turn you will be removed to the end of the line. All 4 players must be present when you put your ball down. If you have not spoken to you opponent you must wait until 4:35pm before teeing off. If you have spoken to your opponent and he has said that he will be there you must wait until 4:50pm. The team competition is a split season. The team with the most points for the year wins $100 per man and the coveted money clip. We will pay five spots. The individual member with the most points receives free dues the next year.
